Philipp Tanzer (born 31 December 1977) is a German men’s-rights activist and former gay adult-film performer who worked as Logan McCree. After Bundeswehr service he moved through Germany’s leather scene, won German Mr. Leather, reached the International Mr. Leather semi-finals, and became one of the most awarded faces of late-2000s gay porn—heavily tattooed, sold as underground energy inside mainstream studio product. He retired from adult work in 2012, settled in the Scottish Highlands, and later entered electoral politics on socially conservative and men’s-rights lines, disavowing porn addiction and attacking LGBT education in schools. For leather and BDSM media history he is a single biography that holds a title sash, a Raging Stallion contract, and a culture-war candidacy.

Murder-Suicide, Medic, Leather Sash
Tanzer was born on 31 December 1977. When he was sixteen his mother was killed in a murder-suicide by her husband. He has said he and his brother were listening on the phone while it happened. That fact sits at the front of most profiles because he puts it there, and because it is the kind of origin the later men’s-rights story likes to claim as fuel. It is also simply a childhood catastrophe. He served in the Bundeswehr as a medic. He was part of the leather scene in Germany. In 2004 he won German Mr. Leather and entered that year’s International Mr. Leather contest, reaching the semi-finals. The pageant circuit is the first public credential: not a studio, a sash. Logan McCree: Scotland, Wolverine, “Son of the King”
In the mid-2000s he signed an exclusive contract with Raging Stallion Studios. He chose the stage name himself. “Logan” is a homage to Scotland and to Marvel’s Wolverine, commonly called Logan. “McCree,” he said, alludes to his love of God, from Scottish Gaelic words he read as “son of the king.” The package is a marketing essay: Highland romance, comic-book berserker, spiritual kingship, all laid over a German medic with a leather title. Industry colleagues and fans fixated on the heavy tattoo coverage, which he framed as spiritual self-expression rather than fashion. In a 2010 Boyz interview he called himself a Christian while adding that “most Christians probably wouldn’t call me one.” The ink, in his account, includes a feather for freedom, a Capricorn symbol, a wolf as his “spiritual guiding animal,” Saint Michael the Archangel, and the symbol associated with Prince. Body modification, leather pageantry, and later conservative Christianity share one skin narrative across decades.
In September 2007, Raging Stallion president Chris Ward and Screaming Eagle XXX owner Jake Deckard announced Screaming Eagle’s first production: Ink Storm, starring McCree beside other heavily tattooed performers. The title is the brand thesis. Tattoos are not background. They are the weather system the scene is named for.
2008: Fourth Floor, Hell, Jocks, a Bloody Western, The Drifter
In 2008 McCree starred in Raging Stallion’s The 4th Floor with Roman Ragazzi. Director Ben Leon called their scene “by far the best scene I have shot with Roman.” McCree received a nomination for Best Solo Sex Scene at the 2009 Grabby Awards for related work. He then appeared in the two-part Hotter Than Hell, including a threesome with Dak Ramsey and Tober Brandt in the second part that drew Best Threeway and Best Threesome nominations at the 2009 Grabbys and GayVNs. Raging Stallion’s pornographic western To the Last Man, using the title of the Zane Grey novel, ends in a graphic, bloody shootout and includes a simulated rape in which McCree and Ricky Sinz’s characters assault Scott Tanner’s character. The violence and the sexual-assault depiction drew controversy. The creators promised a non-violent version on DVD. 2009: Performer of the Year, Dream Team, an Alien in the Castro
In March 2009 McCree was named Performer of the Year at the GayVN Awards—the loudest individual stamp that year. The next month NakedSword added him to its “dream team,” a special site section of fan-favorite performers. CEO Tim Valenti wrote that McCree “lends an underground, bad-ass energy to the raw sexuality of mainstream porn.” That sentence is the whole marketing problem Raging Stallion had hired him to solve: make studio hardcore feel like it still had a street. 2009 titles included Porn Stars in Love, with a fictionalized account of his real-life sexual history with D’Angelo; Rear Deliveries, set around Raging Stallion’s distribution warehouse; Ink Stain, built on the tattooed body; and Port of Entry, sex among bikers, sailors, and dockworkers. The sci-fi feature The Visitor cast him as Epoc, an alien researcher who cannot physically interact with his human subjects while he explores San Francisco’s Castro. Soon after release Raging Stallion reported the title at the top of its sales chart. Chris Ward called McCree “the top porn star in the industry today.” McCree later won GayVN Best Actor for the role.
The year’s slate is a tour of gay-porn genres with one constant face: romance-about-the-talent, warehouse realism, tattoo showcase, leather-and-labor port fantasy, Castro sci-fi. Exclusive contracts exist to make that kind of saturation possible. For a short window Logan McCree was the studio’s weather.
2010–2012: XBIZ, Dragon, Giants, Exit
In 2010 he starred opposite Jack Dragon in Elite Male’s Logan vs. Dragon, the second in a Dragon series. The same year he and Tyler Saint were named joint winners of Gay Performer of the Year at the XBIZ Awards. In 2011 he appeared in Raging Stallion’s Giants alongside names such as Wilfried Knight. In the early 2010s he also created his own pornographic films and posted them online—an independent afterburn as the exclusive years ended. In 2012 he left the adult industry. Compilation DVDs kept the footage in racks: The Best of Steve Cruz, Vol. 1 (2009), Inkboyz #1 (2010), The Best of Ricky Sinz, Vol. 1 (2010). Retirement did not pull the discs. It only stopped new principal photography under the McCree brand.
Balnakeil: House Without Power, Salon, Gallery, Firefighter
In 2012 Tanzer moved from Dresden to the village of Balnakeil in the Scottish Highlands. He had been going to Scotland on wild-camping holidays with a military friend and said he “feel[s] at home” there. He built his own house and lived without water or electricity during construction. He planned to open a hair salon and massage parlour, then worked as a hair stylist and a firefighter. By 2018 he was running an art gallery in the area. In 2021 he was working as an artist, hairdresser, and massage therapist. The Times called him a “popular figure” in the Durness area and noted his work on the Durness Highland Halloween Festival. He also worked as a disc jockey under the name DJ Krieger. The Highland chapter is a deliberate un-citying: from Dresden and San Francisco sets to a village at the edge of the map, from exclusive contract to salon scissors and a fire service pager. The stage name had already pointed at Scotland. The retirement made the homage literal.
Sexuality: D’Angelo, Gay-for-Pay Accusations, Later Heterosexual Identification
In the late 2000s Tanzer was in a relationship with fellow performer Vinnie D’Angelo—the same man who shared The Drifter awards and the fictionalized sex history in Porn Stars in Love. When he began dating women again in his thirties, fans accused him of being gay-for-pay. He had recently ended a long-term relationship with a man and rejected the label. In a 2018 Vice interview he said he had never identified as gay, because he felt disconnected from gay culture, and that he had previously identified as “asexual but with a preference for men.” In a 2010 interview he described a lack of emotional interest in sex, saying it was “mostly just about lust and trying to get rid of that sexual pressure.” Speaking to Vice in 2018 he expressed a strong desire to start a relationship and family with a woman. In 2021 he identified as heterosexual and was in a relationship with a woman. By November 2024 he had two daughters.
The arc is one of the most discussed parts of the public story, and it is also a trap. Gay-for-pay is a fan-policing term that treats on-camera sex as a binding identity contract. Tanzer’s own sequence of labels—preference for men, asexual-with-preference, then heterosexual family man—is his to state. The films remain gay hardcore. The leather title remains a leather title. Identity language after 2012 does not recut The Visitor. It does change how he asks to be introduced on a ballot.
Men’s Rights, BBC Cameras, Gender Parity UK
Interest in child-custody issues pulled him into the men’s-rights movement. He attended the 2018 International Conference on Men’s Issues in London. In October 2019 BBC Radio 4’s Into the Manosphere followed his journey from Scotland to Chicago for that year’s ICMI. The same trip appeared in the April 2020 BBC Three documentary I Am a Men’s Rights Activist. In 2020 he founded Gender Parity UK, which campaigns against what it calls discrimination against men and boys. That November the group marched in Edinburgh with Split the Difference. Tanzer called for more public discussion of “men’s mental health, suicide, homelessness, custody issues, male victims of abuse and other issues men face.” He presents himself as a supporter of gender equality who thinks modern feminism has left egalitarianism. The following year ICMI listed him as a featured speaker for Gender Parity UK, including a Q&A with Carl Benjamin, whom Tanzer has called “a really, really nice guy.” The two had already shown public support for each other.
The BBC pieces matter because they are how a former GayVN Performer of the Year re-entered living rooms that had never bought a Raging Stallion disc: as a Highland man driving toward a men’s-issues conference, not as Epoc the alien. Scottish Family Party, Council Run, “LGBT Indoctrination”
In April 2021 Tanzer announced he was running for the Scottish Parliament as a member of the Scottish Family Party, a group that describes itself as “pro-family, pro-marriage [and] pro-life.” He stood in the May 2021 election as a list candidate in the Highlands and Islands region. The party received 1,976 votes. He was not elected. He later ran unsuccessfully in the 2022 Highland Council election for the North, West and Central Sutherland ward. He describes himself as usually a centrist forced into strong views by a belief that “too much liberalism” has done damage. On RT UK he said he was becoming more socially conservative.
On social media he has attacked what he calls “LGBT indoctrination” in education and religion, and alleged over-focus on Black Lives Matter and “radical environmental activism.” The Scottish Family Party has called for teaching “the correlations between homosexual relationships and physical and mental health problems.” Its leader, Richard Lucas, has drawn comparisons between incest and same-sex marriage. Tanzer has praised the party’s stance on a form of sex education he claims “focuses too much on pornography and certain sexualities.” Those positions sit in permanent tension with a résumé that includes IML, a Raging Stallion exclusive, and a Castro-set sci-fi porn. He does not resolve the tension. He campaigns through it.
After Porn: Money, “Family,” Overdoses, Addiction Talk
After he left adult films, the Daily Mail quoted him saying he had always held negative views of the industry and had worked in it because he “needed the money.” Discussing straight porn sets he said he had not made straight porn but had shared a set a couple of times and “saw men being treated like shit by women performers,” screamed at and told exactly what they could and could not do. In the same period he has talked positively about his own experiences making gay pornography, describing colleagues as a supportive family. He has said he lost several colleagues to suicide and drug overdoses. He speaks against porn addiction and against pornography’s effects on children and adults.
The double voice is the late style: studio nostalgia plus public renunciation. Needed the money; also a family. Women performers abusive on a shared straight set; gay colleagues a support system. Addiction is a social harm; the discs still exist. For a BDSM and leather-media site the relevant caution is ordinary: performers are workers, overdoses are real, “I always hated it” after a GayVN Performer of the Year run is a narrative, and narratives about porn are not the same thing as the scenes on the tape.
Religion Without a Church Childhood
Tanzer has said he did not have a religious upbringing but was independently spiritual as a child, feeling he was “not 100% human” and was in fact part angel, with a strong spiritual connection to angels. The 2010 Boyz Christian self-description, the Gaelic “son of the king” etymology he attached to McCree, Saint Michael on the skin, and the later pro-life party ticket form a continuous religious story even if most churches would not claim the porn years. He has always talked about the tattoos as a spiritual map. The later politics simply made the map louder.

For a few years the industry could not get enough of the tattooed exclusive.
The leather-to-studio pipeline is older than McCree. Title contests mint a walk, a sash, and a weekend of protocol; studios mint a contract and a sales chart. German Mr. Leather 2004 and an IML semi-final are the first half of that sentence. Ink Storm as a tattoo-cast launch and The Drifter as a narrative awards vehicle are the second. What is unusual is not the crossing. It is the later attempt to campaign as if the crossing were only a cash emergency, while also calling the colleagues a family and also warning classrooms about porn. Hold all three statements. Titles that still define the run are Ink Storm, The 4th Floor, Hotter Than Hell, Jock Itch, To the Last Man, The Drifter, Porn Stars in Love, Rear Deliveries, Ink Stain, Port of Entry, The Visitor, Logan vs. Dragon, and Giants. Retirement, a self-built Highland house, men’s-rights documentaries, Gender Parity UK, and two failed elections then rewrote the public script from dungeon-adjacent celebrity to culture-war candidate.
