Franco Saudelli was born on 4 August 1952. He is an Italian comics artist. In his pages, bondage and barefoot fetish are the subject, not a one-off gag or a bit of background. Collectors of European erotic comics put his name with the artists who turned rope, high heels, and soles into a visual language that keeps coming back.
He was born in Latina, in Lazio, and moved to Rome young. He entered comics in the mid-1970s, first working with Ugolino Cossu and Massimo Rotundo. From 1978 he drew western stories for Lanciostory. Later he worked with Roberto Baldazzini, Stefano Piselli, and Riccardo Morrocchi on Baldazzini & Saudelli’s Bizarreries, Book One and Book Two. His work ran in Italian and French magazines, including Orient Express, Libération, and Charlie Mensuel.
In the 1980s he drew short erotic comics for Comic Art, Glamour, and Diva, sometimes with Giovanna Casotto. Bondage scenes and barefoot detail sit in the foreground. Dargaud collected the series La Bionda in album form, and that set the combination people still look for: glamorous women, rope or other restraint, and feet treated as the erotic focus. Collectors of Italian fetish art come to Saudelli for that mix of polished drawing and SM-adjacent staging. The figures in the work are adults, drawn as adults in adult comics.
