Eri Kikuchi (Japanese: 菊池えり / 菊池エリ, Hepburn: Kikuchi Eri) is a pink-film actress and an early Japanese AV idol of the 1980s. She is widely cited as the first adult-video performer whose career was built around exceptionally large breasts for that era in Japan—the pioneer of the big-bust or “kyonyū boom” (巨乳ブーム) that Kimiko Matsuzaka later set fully on fire in 1989 and that became a major AV genre in the 1990s. Beyond softcore and hardcore bust titles, she also appeared in BDSM-themed rope-bondage photobooks, which is why bondage-model histories still list her name next to the kyonyū brand.
Early life and AV debut
Kikuchi was born in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, on April 5, 1965. She started as a fūzoku (sex-industry) worker in hotels and soaplands and appeared in several underground pornographic films before her official AV debut at age twenty in Beautiful D-Cup Girl, Sister L, released September 1985 by CineMagic. That launch framed her as a bust-centered star rather than a generic pink newcomer—an industrial niche that Japanese adult video would expand for decades.
Pink film and Nikkatsu / Excess titles
Her pink-film debut was with Million Film in Miss 20 Year-Old Momoko (ミス20才 快感!百合子の本番) in 1986. In August of the same year she starred for Shintoho Eiga in Eri Kikuchi: Big Tits (菊池エリ 巨乳, Kikuchi Eri Kyonyū), playing “Eri,” a nude model and AV actress who becomes romantically involved with her manager. In 1988 she headlined one of Nikkatsu’s last Roman Porno films, Eri Kikuchi: Big Tits Blame (菊池エリ 巨乳責め, Kikuchi Eri: Kyonyūzeme). In 1993 she returned for another theatrical big-bust title for Excess Films, Nikkatsu’s post–Roman Porno softcore line. Those credits place her on both the independent pink circuit and the major-studio softcore pipeline that fed Japanese adult cinema through the Roman Porno collapse.
Bondage photobooks, teaching, and mature comeback
Through the late 1980s and early 1990s Kikuchi appeared in multiple photobooks, many with explicit BDSM rope-bondage themes—kinbaku-adjacent glamour that tied her bust fame to SM visual culture. In 2003 she worked as a lecturer and demonstrator at the AV Cultures School, founded by male AV actor Shinji Kubo to train future AV directors—a “porn pedant” second act covered in the Japanese press. By December 2004, at age thirty-nine, she returned to AV for Madonna, a studio specializing in “mature” actresses. In July 2005 she performed in Mourning Dress Slave / Eri Kikuchi for CineMagic, the same company that launched her twenty years earlier. As of 2013 she was billed at the Nagoya fashion-health establishment Nishiki VIP Toshima. Sources often cited for her career include Noriyuki Adachi’s Adaruto na Hitobito (Kodansha, 1992), Mainichi Shimbun coverage of the AV school, AV Idol Directory entries, and Moodyz filmography listings. For BDSMWild readers, Eri Kikuchi is both a kyonyū genre founder and a bondage-photobook presence—proof that 1980s Japanese adult stardom could run on bust marketing and still leave a rope-and-SM paper trail.
