Other World Kingdom, OWK, was never a sovereign state any other country recognized. It occupied a 16th-century château in Černá, in the Žďár nad Sázavou District of the Czech Republic. It claimed a currency, passports, police, courts, a state flag, and a state hymn, and called itself a micronation. What it was, in practice, was a large commercial BDSM and femdom facility and resort. For adult visitors it wrapped power exchange in state language and pushed that theme about as far as hospitality could. The ranks, cells, and torture rooms were not a real jurisdiction. They were sets for paid adult roleplay. The house script called some men property. That was role language, not a legal status, and not a method for treating anyone as property.
Founding, sale listings, Womania
OWK was officially founded on 1 June 1996. After about two years of construction and about £2 million, it opened to visitors in spring 1997. The marketing sold a dominance-and-submission environment meant to be hard to match for size and internal consistency. Queen Patricia I, styled an absolute monarch, was crowned on 30–31 May 1997. In 2008 the land and buildings were listed for about €8 million, pitched as convertible to a hotel, restaurant, residence, or nursing home. The listing was still up in 2016. As of 2020 OWK still owned the building and still ran regular events there. On 24 May 2016 Queen Patricia I launched the Womania Empire project, looking for a site for a new matriarchal BDSM society headquarters. It was a later brand for the same idea of female rule.
Ranks on the script
OWK presented itself as a matriarchy with a heavy femdom theme. Its stated aim was to put as many men as possible, on as much territory as possible, under the unlimited rule of Superior Women. It charged people as if it were a state. The operator was a private business.
Queen Patricia I held stacked titles, including Sublime Supreme Administrator over activities and the palace, and Sublime Administrator of the Treasury, and she commanded the court and the guard. The ranks under her worked as both fake state titles and kink roles. All of it was for adults.
Sublime Ladies, also called Lady Citizens, were the nobility. A woman could be a citizen if she was of the age of consent, “owned” at least one male slave in the house’s role language, obeyed OWK principles and its so-called laws, applied formally, and spent at least five nights in the Area of the Queen’s Palace.
Subjects were men who obeyed the queen and the rules and paid taxes. They kept limited rights: travel, property, children, employment, enterprise, and opinion.
Slaves, in the script, were men who had given up rights. The house described them as property of the queen or of the Sublime Ladies, down at the level of farm animals. Read as politics, that is costume. Read as a commercial design, it is a full invented world. Passports and the hymn were scene props at the scale of a château.
What was on the grounds
The site covered about 3 hectares (7.4 acres): several buildings, a 250-meter (820 ft) oval track, a small lake, and lawns. The plan was built for the look and the feel of equestrian dominance, protocol, and confinement play.
The Queen’s Palace held the monarch’s residence, a banqueting hall, a library, a throne room, a torture chamber, a schoolroom, a gym, and a basement prison whose cells could be hired. The schoolroom was an adult theme room, not a place for minors. The Long House added lodging, including the Countess Elizabeth Báthory Chambers with two torture chambers, plus a swimming pool, a pub, a restaurant, and the Wanda Nightclub. Outside and in the training spaces there was a sawdust-covered indoor riding hall and stables. The throne was for protocol, the cells for confinement roleplay, the riding hall for the look of pony play, the nightclub for power played in public. The torture rooms and cells were rentable adult sets. They were not a torture manual.
What the record actually supports
OWK is often set next to Anne Rice’s Exit to Eden, a novel about a BDSM resort, and next to the château of Roissy in Story of O. Those are literary models of a closed erotic domain. OWK tried to sell a ticketed, real-estate version on a Czech château, with micronation cosplay on top.
The checkable line is: founded 1 June 1996, opened in spring 1997 after about two years of building, Queen Patricia I’s coronation, a three-rank script of ladies, subjects, and slaves, about 3 hectares, sale attempts from 2008 through 2016, events still running in 2020, and the 2016 Womania Empire launch. No matter what it called itself, OWK was not a recognized sovereign state. It was a commercial femdom resort.
