Platform bans and files that are not a free pass
Erotic hypnosis, sometimes called hypnokink, keeps running into platform fights over non-consent fantasy. In 2019 Patreon, under a rule against glorifying sexual violence, banned erotic content that depicted what it called coerced consent. In 2023 a BuzzFeed News piece on the Bambi Sleep files alleged that they eroded and violated consent, shaping people into obedient, feminine, dim-witted, sex-obsessed personas who remembered poorly afterward. Other practitioners criticized the article for treating the community as one bloc. Many of them agreed those particular files were unsafe, and they insisted Bambi Sleep is a small slice of a much wider hypnokink space. Files that claim to overwrite a personality permanently, without a clear consensual-non-consent frame, are the ones to avoid.
For adult players the practical limit is the agreement. Erotic hypnosis is not a license to ignore a safeword or an offline physical limit, and it does not turn a person into a puppet. Skip files that claim a permanent personality overwrite and do not spell out the frame. Treat amnesia play as high-risk edge play. Build the protocol around the trance. Whether it is a skill between partners or a pure media fetish, it sits on the agreement that the people involved are adults who talked it through.
