Christina Douglas, the widow of a wealthy and esteemed man, enjoys a life of luxury and social prestige. Her pristine garden is the pride of the neighborhood, admired by her high-society friends. However, the true labor behind this beauty is owed to the Douglas estate’s hardworking groundskeepers, John Gardener and his son, Jimmy. Despite their tireless work, the Gardeners receive no recognition and are treated as mere hired help, unable to even enter the lavish home. For Jimmy, this unrewarding labor pushes him to the limit, causing tension with his real job.

Unbeknownst to her social circle, Christina harbors a dark secret. Struggling financially, she’s been selling valuable artwork and furniture from her estate to maintain her extravagant lifestyle. But John Gardener has noticed the missing pieces and decides it’s time to make Christina pay in a different way. As Christina tries to negotiate her way out of trouble, it soon becomes clear that her daughters may become part of the twisted bargain.
