The Hostage is a gripping tale of revenge, and survival set in the notorious Mosquito Swamp Penitentiary. Governor Dalton, the warden of the remote jungle prison, has a reputation for his harsh treatment of the young women sent to his facility. Lidia, a former inmate who endured years of challenges under Dalton's rule, is finally free. However, her newfound freedom is disrupted when she discovers that her younger sister has been imprisoned in the same harsh environment.
Desperate to save her sister, Lidia seeks the assistance of an unlikely ally and they decide to take action by capturing Dalton's daughter, Belen, hoping to negotiate for Lidia's sister's release. Unbeknownst to Lidia, Belen opposes her father's methods and empathizes with the prisoners. However, kept blindfolded and unable to speak, Belen struggles to communicate her true feelings, leading to a tense standoff where trust and intentions remain unclear.
