A Showa-style grotesque version. A girl is punished. Sensual imagery in pursuit of the aesthetic creed of beauty and eroticism. Lewd characters painted on a female body that emerges in candlelight. A girl in a fundoshi is spanked, tortured with cold water, and beaten with a broom. She is also toyed with by a dwarf jester who lives in the mansion. Fresh peonies are pinned all over her body and she is burned with hot wax. Bound and left in a garden of falling petals, her white breasts are pierced with dressmaker’s pins, her hair is shorn, and she is discarded into the Heisei era.
