Kim Ye is a Los Angeles artist working across sculpture, painting, video, and live performance. She was born in Beijing and took an MFA at UCLA. Her work has been shown at the Getty Center’s Pacific Standard Time Family Festival, Moran Bondaroff, Machine Project, and Visitor Welcome Center. Professional domination is not a side job tucked into the CV. It is material she uses. The pieces keep asking how dominance and submission move: who holds control, who yields, and how ritual, costume, and instruction set the power in a room. That is an ongoing conversation between art institutions and BDSM culture, not a one-off shock.
For adults who already know power exchange, the work translates in both directions. Dungeon logic goes into the gallery’s white cube, and the gallery’s rigor comes back into the erotic theater of D/s. The line through the career is plain: a Los Angeles base, work in several media, and a steady mediation between making art and the craft of dominance.
